Dress Rehearsal

Dress Rehearsal

written by: Jon Ashley Lunsford

For me, the world stops when we are together…
Both our hearts beat in sync while we are tethered.
I’ve been drawn to you over the course of this lifetime…
I’d give up everything to keep you and make you mine.

Before I met you, I dreamed about you as a child…
A dream that recurred 6 more times.
Time and time again your lips and your kisses dance through my mind,
days go by and this chaotic cycle begins to unwind.

It’s been said, love will keep us together!
There’s a stagnant lull I hope we can weather.
People tell me to stay strong, but I don’t know where to start.
There’s a slow mending for this broken heart.

This is love!
This is life!
This is not a dress rehearsal,
so let’s get it right!
