Dust

Dust

written by: Bonnie Currie

World grown old; past
Open fingers, life’s promises sift.

Aside, trust cast
A moment’s grandeur; game of chance
Innocence, childlike faith
Belittled and scorned.

Evening tide, truth sways
neglected
Pawns, emotions, another’s play
Values relinquished to another day.
