Entangled Particles of Us
written by: Christina Stewart
They say particles, once touched, never let go,
spinning in sync across time, across space,
an unseen thread between what was
and what will always be.
I feel it, even now,
a pull, a whisper, a static hum,
like the echo of your hand in mine,
like a signal from somewhere just out of reach.
Science calls it entanglement,
but I call it love.
Not just memory, not just longing,
but proof that I am still with you,
and you are still with me.
No distance, no silence,
no force in the universe
could ever break us apart.
They say everything is made of dust,
scattered remnants of stars and time,
but I swear the air between us is alive,
charged with the weight of your name.
Distance is a trick of the light,
I feel you in the static hum,
in the spaces where silence should be,
but instead, there’s you. Always you.
Science says we shed pieces of ourselves,
skin, breath, atoms unseen,
so maybe that’s why I still find you here,
woven into the very air I breathe.
Maybe love isn’t just memory.
Maybe it’s physics.
Maybe it’s proof that no matter what,
you’re never really gone from me.
