Every Spring Is A Shared History
written by: Aneek Chatterjee
Every spring is a shared history.
History of red flowers; sometimes
pink and yellow; often white.
In every spring the dusky road
goes to the little green mound,
preferred to look at the orange sun
setting behind the sky-high trees,
unlike our dreams.
Dreams of flowers: red,
pink or yellow. Now, in every
spring, the road climbs up the little
mound; only to find
the long trees have fallen
to the rude earth. And the surreal orange
sun is spitting fire on the empty land
and also,
on our small, shared history.
