Exorcism

Exorcism

written by: Shruthi Senthilkumar

Tell-tale shadow, yellow beams off the wall,
I always did wonder if you could taste the salt.
The stench of sage is a spirit in my house,
While I use my tears to clean my mouth.
Read alcove fables, put my feet up the flames,
I’m lying on the warmth of the floor you paved.
Do you feel me bursting at the seams?
It’s you for eternity, you looming over me,
Finer than my energy, it’s crimson in the flesh.
Love, my tongue tends to dance around it
like the blades of orange in the blaze
I’ve always seen it flicker and wane on the ceiling,
But now for you, I close my eyes in a shroud
Then let the age of my edges blush
And flush the devil in my body out.
