Flow of Life

Oh, we swell with the tides,
We rise with the moon,
Joined with the ocean,
We’re carried, we’re soon—
Down we flow, to the ocean wide,
We return, with the turning tide,
From the mountains to the deep blue sea,
In the dance of life, we’re wild and free.

We evaporate, just to rise again,
The cycle of life, it has no end,
We fall, we rise, then we fall once more,
A rhythm, a heartbeat, forever we soar.
Down we flow, to the ocean wide,
We return, with the turning tide,
From the mountains to the deep blue sea,
In the dance of life, we’re wild and free.
Rishikesh Upadhyay is an Indian born, grew up and lives in Bhanjang Basti, Haflong, a small Nepalis’ hamlet in the district headquarter of Dima Hasao (formerly North Cachar Hills), in the Indian states of Assam. His writings, short stories, articles, and reviews have been published in both online and in print. Dr. Upadhyay holds a PhD, MPhil and an MSc from Assam University Silchar and a BSc Hons from Haflong Government College. He is currently a Professor (assistant) at Assam University affiliated Haflong Government College, India.
