Best songs do not fade into
sunset that reddens the sky,
earth with its dying colours.
They evade the oblivion by
slipping
out of temporal void.
Lines come back
on
a foggy Sunday afternoon, pals
unannounced, a guitar and a book
of
unsung lyrics with them as relics,
thereby
bring back the familiar scents of
the lost
decades.
On other days, when solitude sets in and a storm
hits hard, drumming music out of roof-slates and
car tops in the street, birds terrified, you start
humming snatches from the
songs that eerily mirror
current reality, moods, inner
turbulence,
and, oddly
become your
own
lyrics, never written.
A humble word-worshipper: catcher of elusive sounds, meanings, images. Published 28 creative and critical books--- joint and solo.
