I Danced in The Meadows of Green

I Danced in The Meadows of Green

written by: Russell Colclough

I danced in the meadows of green, and the summer of youth was never to end. The hedgerow’s invisible songs gave tune and cheer to all among the green. I fell and rolled, yet the nettles end was my pain. I was saved! Doc leaves upon my legs held firm so magic relieved my pain, and I danced again in the meadows of green.

The golden leaves fell, and the summer was no more. I hurt and cried, the growing of demons inside. The chamber of screams in my mind, I longed for meadows of green.
Hoorar! The pain was to end as I drank from the cup to welcome my peace. And forever I dance in the meadows of green.
