I WANT A BABY ELEPHANT FOR CHRISTMAS
written by: Dianne Moritz
I want a baby elephant for Christmas.
Only a baby elephant will do.
I don’t want a car, golf cart, or golfing glove,
I want a baby elephant to care for, hug, and love.
I want a baby elephant for Christmas.
And nothing else will please me so, I know.
You won’t have to use any paper, box or bow.
You can lead him in the door.
That’s the way that it should go.
Now my worst fear on Christmas morning,
racing down the stairs…
when….Oh, what do I see….
just waiting there for me?
But…
a huge, plush elephant standing there!
NO FAIR!
I want a baby elephant for Christmas.
Only a baby elephant will do.
No cat, no dog, no skis, no new ski pants.
I only like those baby elephants,
And those baby elephants like me, too.
You say, “An elephant eats too much, what then?”
Then add, “And soon will outgrow his little pen.”
But…
There’s lots of room for him in the backyard and shed.
He’ll eat out there and play out there and have a clean straw bed.
I want a baby elephant for Christmas.
Another single thing will never do.
No dvds, no books on Tantric chants,
I only like those baby elephants,
And those baby elephants like me, too.
So…
I woke right up this Christmas morning,
and dashed down the stairs.
When what to my surprise…
WOW! I can’t believe my eyes!
I saw a baby elephant waiting there!
I got a baby elephant for Christmas!
Only a baby elephant would do.
No cutting boards, no clothes or orchid plants.
I only love those baby elephants.
And this baby elephant loves me, too.
His name’s Kabu!
