If I Only Knew

If I Only Knew

She taught me the valuesIf I Only Knew, a poem by Manisha Divan at Spillwords.com
Attributes too,
To serve herself water,
Is now a task too.
She gave me a life,
A beautiful life.
But hers would crumble
If only I knew!!!
Her life was marred
With many a sorrow
Only to be muted by a thankless
tomorrow!!!
Life plays games.
Some we lose, some we gain.
She’d lose it all, lose it to pain.
Pain of not knowing,
Pain of not being.
If only I knew!!!
She’s now, but a mere shadow
Of her former self.
A benign soul, who needs constant help.
Help to stay awake,
Help to stay alive.
If only I could,
Reverse rewind my time
And give my MOM back
her ‘MIND’
If only I knew,
I’d play a game or two
And cheat with time
To get back the old ‘YOU’!!!
