The setting sun takes me
On an introspection journey
Again, today, and I ask
Am I living, just surviving
Or breathing?
For close ones, acquaintances,
Mass or myself?
Is there a purpose?
A motto or just because
I was born?
Questions, questions, questions
Surround yourself with questions
Ask yourself questions
To live a life for yourself.
Dr. Raeesabegam Usmani is an academic, researcher, translator, and poet-writer from the Western Ghats of India. She is an Assistant Professor at NMIMS University in Hyderabad, India, and writes to unwind her troubled mind.
