Jack’s Grin

Jack’s Grin

written by: Susan Glamuzina

empty
scoop by scoop
I disappear
consumed in despair
nothing left to form a tear
a fake smile
carved in my face
my grief gifting joy
in the shell of what I was
pain glows strong
I carry on
needs forgone
scoop by scoop
empty
