Life

Life

written by: Vidya Venkataramanan

The morning was bitterly cold
The water frozen,
A nip in the air
Foretold
A below zero
Temperature.
The lotus stalks could barely stand
The buds afraid
To bloom.
The large fronds
Floated
In silent
Anticipation Of
they knew not what.
Then a light
Breeze
Rippled through
The waters
Breathing life
Into an
Otherwise
Still morning.
So too, grace flows
Through us,
To awaken
Us from
Deep slumber
And ripples
Through us
Giving life
To mankind.
