Love’s Rainbow

Love’s Rainbow

It was twenty years ago this May
that my dear Mother passed away.
Pain burns deep each time we pray
to feel her embrace again one day.

Standing by the road after the rain
dark clouds drift towards the plain.
I hear the loud whistle of the train
coming from town and back again.

Swiftly appearing is a crisp rainbow
colorful palette so bright and aglow.
The end was clear in a brilliant show
a statue of Mother and child below.

Prayers answered with love this time
as bells on the church began to chime.
Feeling warmth in the bright sunshine
acknowledged love within this rhyme.
