Lucidity

Lucidity

written by: Simon Drake

It is impossible to see clearly
Through those teary eyes
Can you think with lucidity
Amongst memories that make you cry
You’re using sadness as a compass
Navigating in a mist of sorrow
The map you wrote in anger
A calm you would not follow
The storm you’re in is perfect
With no way to break free
Emotions have scuttled your boat
Sinking you within a raging sea
Lost and alone in the darkness
The waves constantly crashing in
There is no way for you to survive
If you don’t change the way you think
What will it take for you to be calm
At peace in mind and soul
Your emotions working together
So the grounded you has control
Headed towards a calmer sea
Relief amongst the triggering reefs
Your journey won’t be so perilous
As you sail your way to inner peace
