yes, we are still watching
locked in
to the detail and attention
afforded by the streams of
endless unconsciousness
that parade thru our lives
in the guise of respite and entertainment
while the outside world
is not so secretly subjugated,
bombed, pillaged, and controlled
and could we bare to pry
our minds away from the screen
we might wonder
when we stopped caring.
Edward L. Canavan is a Los Angeles based poet whose work has most recently appeared in New Croton Review, The Opiate, and the Collapse Press Anthology “Letters for the End Times.” He has 2 poetry collections published by Cyberwit Press. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Edward currently resides in North Hollywood, California, where he practices Buddhism and is currently listening to Zeal & Ardor.
