The one you think will never impact you.
The one you think you are immune to.
The one that happens to other people.
The one that’s unthinkable.
The one that’s incomprehensible.
The one that’s ugly.
The one that’s ruthless.
The one that changes your life.
The one that robs your dignity.
The one that zaps your strength.
The one that renders you powerless.
The one that claims life too soon.
The one that affects both men and women, young and old.
The one you pray you’ll never hear uttered out of the mouth of your doctor.
Until one day you do.
