Memory Man

Memory Man

written by: Jeannine Ward

Oh memory man
whose youthful ways
were torn and mauled
in early days

A fearful girl
with baited breath
sits in silence
conjuring death

Twas us who chose
this hellish life
full of fear
and rift with strife

If we go
so deep within
can we expunge
the fear and sin

The way of the warrior
though not often seen
lies not within shadows
but deep amidst dreams
