A ship went down in seas long ago
Mermaids don’t drown, they just turn to foam
I’ve heard them sing in scales no-one knows
Then dive away through waves far from home
No prince to save, no tale to be told
What’s gone is rare like diamonds on your soul.
I'm 41 years old. Mother of 2 from Waterford, Ireland. I work full-time as a Clerical Officer. I love to write poetry, micropoetry and short stories when I have time.
