Millions of Misty Epitaphs

[Millions of Misty Epitaphs]

written by: Nada M. Sobhi

Memories like guns,
Splitting you to pieces
With piercing echoes
Ringing bells of hearts

Memories like a compass
Guiding a mournful fountain
To core’s bloody chambers
Burn and gain intense pain

In so many old drawers
Millions of misty epitaphs
Some are soul-drained!
Others make you laugh!

For I, at noon, plod between them
Staring at names and their words of praise!
Some are living, names the same
But not their hearts, not their gentle gaze!
