My Heart’s Folly

My Heart’s Folly

Morning dew to a fawn
All I could do was stare
Body made for the gods
Her gait breathtaking
My brain stumbling
Falling
Crashing
Spattering

With her lips she moved me
Ballads of promise and allurement
With her body she satisfied me
As only a cherished lover could
To her pool of love I went willingly
Falling
Crashing
Submerging

My heart she now holds
Squeezing and stabbing
I watch while she laughs
Helpless and empty
Hopes and dreams
Falling
Crashing
Disintegrating
