No Man, a poem by Gwil James Thomas at Spillwords.com

No Man

No Man

written by: Gwil James Thomas

The truth is
that I struggled
to kill the fruit fly,
for being a fruit fly.

That I’d rather
defend your honour
with my caustic words,
than kick his head in
and get mine kicked in
in the process.

That I wear this heart
on my sleeve
and would rather sport
a severed tongue,
over a stiff upper lip.

It’s true,
no man, I am.
