Oh Life

Oh Life

written by: AK Traveler

Oh life,
Do you remember the day
when Parwana
first found his Noor?

No?
You don’t.
But the wind remembers!

The wind remembers—
the date, the time, the line.
OK, OK…
Let me recall you again.

Recall the light,
the side,
the rhythm
you once knew—
but somehow forgot.
Still, the wind remembers!

Oh life,
The day when Parwana saw
his Noor for the very first time—
trees were dancing,
birds were singing…
How can I describe that moment?

I can’t.
But the wind can.

That day,
sound turned silent,
and silence grew loud.
Yet the wind knows…

Days passed,
day by day,
his love bloomed quietly,
day by day.
From corners dim,
he watched her glow,
which lit candles in his heart.

OK life,
let me tell you about her too.

She had nothing for him,
but time—
the greatest writer—
wrote her in his story
as a friend.
Just a friend…
But the wind remembers!

A friend who stayed.
A friend who waited.
Who fought for him.
Who understood what he never spoke.
Who shaped him
into what he had never been.

She is not just a friend to him.
She is…

Oh life,
you don’t know.
But the wind remembers!

A gift she gave,
like a cup filled with timeless delight.
Time wrote a chapter—
friends became best friends.

Now not just the wind—
but the moon and stars too,
they remember…

Those nights,
they talked,
they laughed.

Oh life—
Why did you change all that?
Why, time?
Why did you turn the page?
Why, wind…
do you still remember?

Oh life,
I just want to live being hers.
Can’t take a single breath without her.
Take my breath away.
Colour me in her colours.

Oh life—
do you remember?

No.
But the wind remembers.

I belong to her—
but she doesn’t belong to me.
Let ages of ages get angry,
let destiny break,
but the wind remembers.

Still the moon and stars are watching.
Do you remember?

No…
But the wind remembers.

Oh life…
Are you there?
