Old Feelings

Old Feelings

written by: Karin Porter

Here I am
Eating my heart out again
Not much is left
After daily pity parties
Wondering what happened to you

My mind goes in circles
Replaying the past
Happy clips, like soundbites on TV
Of the random moments we shared

To me, those moments live on
Weaved into a mosaic
A tapestry
To wrap myself in
When I miss you,
And pine for feelings
I thought we shared

I keep searching
But it’s fruitless
Your name yields no results,
No address, no images

It’s just like you were never real
Just a figment of my mind

An elusive wonderful mystery
That will never be solved
