One More Time

One More Time

written by: Abhay Menon

I am dry, please fill me up,
My skin is cracked, heal me up,
Let your tears, soothe my pain,
Let it rain, one more time.
My throat is parched, a drop it craves,
My children cry, from tombs and graves,
Let your sigh, cool my soul,
Let it rain, one more time.
My trees once green, wither away,
My seas once blue, are murky grey,
Let your clouds, quench my thirst,
Let it rain, one more time.
My fields are barren, mute they lie,
My birds are dying, no more they fly,
Let your hand, caress my soul,
Let it rain, one more time.
My will, once strong and bold erodes,
My mind, my sense, my soul corrodes,
Let your shower, cleanse my wounds,
Let it rain, one more time.
My body, with this fever glows,
My life, out of my bosom flows,
Let your love, pour down on me,
Let it rain, one more time.
