Relationships make the world go round,
When right ingredients, are therein found.
The garden of life should be carefully tilled,
Blossoming relationships make it fulfilled.
A good climate for relationships to start,
Sets in sure, when empathy fills the heart.
Commitment to stay put through thick and thin,
Builds the base for love to flourish within.
Open communication, clear and heartfelt,
Is key to banish the unnecessary fear.
Shared values, likes and beliefs of life,
Common threads that cut out the strife.
Mutual respect, the essence of true love,
A gift to share, not later but, as soon as now.
Being true and honest, as ever possible,
Saves us from all the unwanted trouble.
Care to know things that can split us apart,
Leaving us shattered, with a wounded heart.
Care to always keep those things at bay,
Let us hold on to our life’s joyful sway.
No emotional bond, no personal connection,
Can trigger in the other, painful situation.
Incompatibility, a differing set of needs,
Conflict arises, one or more heart bleeds.
Lack of trust, broken promises, or some lies,
Creates feelings of betrayal, risking the ties.
Lack of commitment, a lack of investment,
Can lead to a relationship’s premature end.
Understand elements that break relationships,
And don’t take for granted gift of companionship.
Care to tend to the things that make them thrive,
And nurture them so the relationships may survive.
