Song of Day

Song of Day

sunshine spilling
through your
fingertips

brightened my dark nights,
transforming me into
a song of
day;

so effortlessly—

i was in awe
of your beauty and
your power,

i was convinced you
were a goddess;

you were
a faerie who
captured my heart
with her magic—

even still,
i love you,
rosefinch;

maybe some people touch
us with galaxies to remind us
magic still exists when we
don’t know how to believe in it
or ourselves—

even though our time was too brief
i will treasure every second we had.
