Spare Me!

Spare me from the torture
Of nightmares ‘n unending dreams
Of sleepless nights ‘n silent screams
Spare me from the pain
Of loving you in vain
Of not seeing the gain
In your anticipated return

Spare me from the grief
Of wasting this palpable relief
Spare me from the grip of sorrow
Of not seeing you on the morrow
Spare me from excruciating pangs
Harrowing journeys of memories
Down the dark roads of misery ‘n worries

Spare me from the goodbyes
Of your charms and captivating eyes
Spare me from bearing the shame
Of letting go ‘n unknowing your name
Spare me from the savage flame
That will torch what we became

Spare me from the heartache
That my frail soul cannot take
Jumbled thoughts I can’t persevere
Of time lost that you ‘n I were here
Of losing everything we built
Most of all our mutual trust to wilt

Spare me!
From losing you
