Speaking to Starlings

Speaking to Starlings

written by: Tina Hudak

She whispers to the birds,
I am sick of metaphors!
I am tired of struggling with
lines of clever words strung
out to dry like worn out
laundry, these ragged
tee-shirts, one after the other.
Time to shred overused
associations. Time to state,
oh, so simply, the truth.

And, the starlings go about
their business of bullying the
house finch who fights back.
