Strangers
written by: theRavensproctor
What I should’ve done was chase after you
Hold your face in the center of my hands
And collect the tears that drew from your eyes
Kiss every wound that I couldn’t see
Pick up the fractured pieces
And tell you that it’s okay to be frightened
Better yet terrified
Of how people are bound to situations and time
Like you coming and going
Like a year of your life
Your spending, finding yourself
And I found you
A nimble creation of God fluctuating through the breeze
Instead of walking past you
Like I never cared
Because in the recesses of mind
I ponder the last syllables of my sentences
