Survey me
a seventeen year old black teen
You cannot surprise me
but I may surprise upon being seen
On the outside
simple but happy I may seem
but on the inside
the life I thought I would live is nothing more than a dream
I hate
the idea that I am reclusive and seem
to be high on my own thoughts
a self-medicating dream
Aspergers
is everything, and nothing, that it seems
but once was a curse
turned into an impossible dream
The truth is that
since becoming a teen
I have changed my thoughts
I want to be seen
because what I want to see
is for others like me to achieve their dreams
Appreciate me
for what I have become
Don’t follow me
for I’m not the only one

Reaching new readers and connecting with poets and writers across the web is one of the reasons why he writes. There’s no use in writing if it can’t be shared to uplift and inspire.
