Tale of Richness Lost

Once upon a time
I was rich
So rich that I owned a Fleet of ships!
Today I stumbled upon those ships in
My brown wooden chest from the attic
There they were shining and colorful!
Art of shipmaking taught by my dad
Over a period of three hours,
I graduated with flying colors
As a great skillful shipmaker!
Like many Indian millionaires
I never shared my ship Kingdom
With my younger sibling!

Torrential rainfall in Kerala
Which brought pools to my front
Saw me floating a couple of them in it!
Otherwise, I kept them all
In my brown wooden chest-a hundred of them,
And felt richer than Queen Elizabeth!
Today when I stumbled upon them
I made sure they didn’t litter my polished clean floor!
Looking up I saw a haggard, prudish old witch in the mirror
before me.
Then I knew why she could never
Be rich!
