The Beach In Our Hearts
(The Drink Of Samsara)
written by: Jose A. Tovar
What is the meaning of the waves,
the ocean’s waves held so closely
to the beach in our hearts?
Are they the freedom we seek,
the stilling,
the liberation from our self-made stress?
A washing—better yet,
a profound purification of the spirit
to dissolve our present being
and promote the divine transformation
to be born again?
Or are they illusions born of desires,
the craving and clinging
to a true earth our most desperate heart
wants to feel and believe in:
Mara’s entrapment to forever thirst
the drink of samsara?
Maybe the meaning
is in the eye of the beholder?
