The Complex Healing

The Complex Healing

written by: Parvathi Jayakrishnan

The journey of healing I pack,
The journey of wounds I unpack,
craving for the light of the rising sun,
I indulge in the dawning moon,
erasing the deepened footprints left behind,
marking the paths that were entwined,

Don’t hold me in there in your hearts,
a request I fill, for the pain I instilled,
I carry you all in my backpack,
with an intent not to backtrack,
to an extent, not to fight the flashbacks,
I loosen the knots of bonds,
as I climb up the mountains,
to the sounds of the oozing wind,
freezing the burns within,
freezing bite burning within,

I shed my past,
to become a new me,
climbing up the journey ahead of me,
allowing and accepting the gleam of light,
mounting within,
dawning to heal,

I lay on the ground,
asleep at the peak,
touching the sky,
awaiting the rise of the sun.
