The Fleeting Actor

In the dim glow of forgotten stages,
A soul adrift in the sea of broken dreams,
Once ablaze with the promise of applause,
Now extinguished, lost in the silence of unspoken lines.
Each rejection a weight upon weary shoulders,
Every missed opportunity a dagger to the heart,
The applause of an empty theater mocking,
Echoes of laughter now turned to bitter tears.
The relentless pursuit of a fleeting spotlight,
Leaves a heart heavy with the burden of unfulfilled ambition,
A spirit worn down by the harsh reality,
Of unattainable desires and shattered aspirations.
The once bright beacon of hope now flickers,
Drowning in a sea of self-doubt and despair,
A soul weary of the relentless struggle,
Longs for the solace of eternal repose.
No more the desire to tread the boards,
No more the yearning for the elusive embrace of fame,
Only the longing for the quiet embrace of oblivion,
As the curtain falls on a life consumed by unattained dreams.
