The Journey

The Journey

written by: Fauxcroft

We journey through life blinkered and blind
Too often we miss what’s gone before and that’s been left behind,
So we lack the wisdom, the experience of lessons learnt
As all the bridges we crossed were unconsciously burnt,
So we live in a future not truly or wisely earned
As if learning anything is of no real actual concern,
That’s actively showing true simplistic ignorance there
Living life without thought or a single care,
Always seeking to take more than your fair share,
Unconsciously biased to the spiritual world out there,
Mindless, numb and cold, no wisdom or foresight
No appreciation of nature, life and the universal delight,
Just a puppet that’s been preprogrammed to obey and conform
Well excuse me if I break free from that expected norm,
So that I can live my life to its ultimate best
From the day of my birth right up to my final breath.
