The Mourning Sun

The Mourning Sun

written by: James Dennis Casey IV

@LouisianaJames

burns my eyes
on a dead-end street
paved with angel bones

lost again
come what May
in April
i cry the broken
clown man blues

shadows
crawl around
my shattered mind
shards slice their feet
painting thoughts
crimson red

loss of self
carnage upon a torn page
within a book called life

all I do is dream
and lie to myself
about better days
here
in the mourning sun
