Reverie

…and so i move my gaze to another place,
yet another face
…with a heart as still as lifeless and
as cold as ice
no more moving, no more breathing
in this thing called life
i numb myself and all of my feelings
throw all emotions to the wind
that they may be carried away from me
so then i will feel no pain and cry no tears…
…and as i kiss myself goodbye, i call on the one
whom i kept on the other side, untouchable and
unmoved
self-worth no need to prove
i bow my weakness away, so that the old one will
come and stay…

Imeon504

I am a 47 year old single mom to two teenagers, trying to keep my office survival in spite of the pandemic...writing poems has always been a passion for me...I scribble them down on little notes but still for my eyes only...writing poetry has been my outlet in letting go of emotions that tend to wear me down; it is also my constant companion when I find myself alone and waiting for someone or something. I was born in Angeles City, Philippines, with a degree in bachelor of science in accountancy.
