The Power Is Out
written by: Rando Mithlo

Sped through this quiet room
I knew calm would fall
Thoughts of you stole time
But at least its plentiful
In subconscious kept
A pleasant fear hold
I’ll cede that time spent
Just seemed it mattered more
Late eyes push deeper
For seconds slept in
Between my arms unfold
Her loss of definition
Dozing to the storm
Lightning strike suspend
Taking on a jolt
That left you out of breath
That split in the tree
A charge filled cloud
Your form stirring dust
Now the power is out
Sped across this darkened room
Our bodies are lit
Forget what time had passed
It matters more than it did
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
Dark, forgotten, storm.
