The Sanctuary of Two

The Sanctuary of Two

written by: Pramod Rastogi

The paths we choose,
Winding through the pastimes of fleeting days,
Are not carved in stone,
But woven in the quiet fabric of togetherness.

Love is not a singular pleasure,
Not the brief intoxication of a moment,
But the bonding of two hearts,
Finding sanctuary in the spaces between sighs.

Two lovers inhale the world differently
Not as solitude, but as shared breath,
Where dreams become less envious of reality,
And reality becomes the dream.

In the silence of their sanctuary,
The world fades,
Its noise replaced by the rhythm of hearts
Speaking in languages only they understand.

Here, there is no need for grandeur,
For the pleasures of life are simpler:
A glance, a touch,
The warmth of love unspoken, yet deeply felt.

And when the seasons turn,
When the paths twist and fade into memory,
What remains is the thread they’ve woven,
Unbroken, eternal,
A quiet song only their hearts can sing.
