The Thorn-laden Path To Love
written by: Walid Boureghda
A road to a heart is robed with fell thorns
Through somniferous nights and endless morns.
Each pace is impaled with worries and pain,
Yet love still calls through sun and blustery rain.
Roses may bloom where glooms suddenly creep,
Yet the words may seem difficult to keep.
‘Tis a whispered vow at a fleeting glance,
Which can spur a blaze or finish the dance.
So, step forward with care, night and day,
For love constantly requites those who stay.
Beyond the prickly thorns, the heart beats true,
As far as it’s a path for me and you.
And though the thoroughfare is coarse and long,
The passion of love will make us brave and strong.
