Ticking Time Bomb

Ticking Time Bomb

written by: JOHN BAVERSTOCK

Crowded places,
So many strange faces,
Unrecognisable to me,
But how could they be,
In your mind the face is clear,
Your realisation turns to fear,
As they were never there,
Then the moment turns to despair,
Tricks of the mind convince the brain,
Imagination allowed to run wild once again,
Long periods of trauma,
Turns into acute stress,
how long it’s been going on for,
Is anyone’s guess,
A world built around,
Make believe dreams,
But when it comes down to reality
It’s just not what it seems,
Endless time spent second guessing,
Spending too long in thought,
Just becomes more depressing,
The Brain a ticking time bomb,
We continually overload,
It’s only a matter of time,
Before it eventually explodes.
