Time and Other Things That Aren’t Enough

Time and Other Things That Aren’t Enough

Certain things, like time,
are never enough. This question
strikes at the heart of anguish
yet it escapes the prying eyes
of forever,
longing for it to end.
We continue
to leave ourselves open,
reinforcing
the painful implications
as the weary flow of time
fills the abyss
The vast expanse
of ages
courses like water
as we sail away in defeat.
For every moment,
We stare out, complacent.
Our lives drift past, hopeless.
Yet we do not close our eyes.
Pale rays burst through
the veil of thin smoke,
searching for a quiet place
to rest in peace.
