To Call Upon You

To Call Upon You

written by: Troy DeFrates

Please allow me to call upon you
we do not know what may happen, what can ensue,
Escape from the struggle of not knowing
the underlying truth, never showing,
We have a chance in a million lives
to make a story, to steal the prize,
As rare as a comet’s tail glow
it is your heart that I would know,
The call came as a surprise
asking for a chance to see your eyes,
Please allow me to call upon you
with my genuine smile and eyes of blue,
To talk about exotic lands
places to go as we hold hands,
A simple evening warmed by the fire’s ray
a walk on a beach at the end of the day,
A soft caress to brush the sand
as you look into my eyes and see a man,
Giving to you what my ink has to say
letting it go, nothing left at bay,
Please allow me to call upon you
let me return the joy we once knew.
