Tomorrow, a poem by Simon Drake at Spillwords.com

Tomorrow

Tomorrow

written by: Simon Drake

If tomorrow starts without me
Then wait
I will come like the rising of the Sun
The singing of the birds
I will be the dew on the grass
Waiting to wet your feet
If tomorrow starts without me
Don’t cry
Save your tears for laughter
Think of joyous times we shared
Rejoicing in our wonderful friendship
Our love will last eternal
If tomorrow starts without me
Get up
Don’t hide under the covers
Rise purposeful, ready to unwrap the day
A gift presented to you, don’t waste it
Live your life
Save nothing for a rainy day
One day tomorrow will start without you
Hopefully many moons from now
You would’ve fulfilled all of your dreams twice over
You would have learned to be kind to yourself
Embrace the good discard the bad without regret
Ready for a tomorrow where we meet again
