Undone

Undone

written by: Cindy Coverly

A quotidian path, altered by the serpent of deception,
Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered,
In this life, we find no home.
Undone by the world we love.
Searching for freedom but finding depression.
Sitting out in the cold, raindrops pouring down.
Masquerading in the silence of our grief.
Our wounds pierce the heart, drowning out our belief.
Selfishly we focus on ourselves.
Innocuously we put our father’s true love upon a broken shelf.
Recklessly we forage this life, scraping by on the false promises of this world.

Until, at last…. We hurt no more!
The serpent of deception may have struck His heel, but in turn He crushed its head!
The spirit of fear has fled, no longer living our lives in dread.
Blood cascading down His torn and tattered body, shredded beyond repair.
No truer love than this, healing up all our wounds.
Our sins are nailed deeply upon the cross.
Tears pouring down my face for His sacrifice, just for me.
No longer am I ashamed, His blood has set us free!
