Where have you been and where will you go
Do you think about me in the places you’ll know
Struck with wanderlust for yourself to regain
While I stay behind slowly going insane
Escaping the cage so you can live free
With no idea what it’s doing to me
On a global mission randomly in touch
While I mind the fort missing you so much
Soon you’ll grow weary just wait and see
Then to open arms you’ll return to me
L. M. Giannone is a writer and poet living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originally from Southern Connecticut, Lisa transplanted herself in California to escape the harsh winters and summers of New England.
