The sketch is a group of motley characters: A tall, slim daisy with limbs and a large eye. A long-beaked bird in an exaggerated tophat. A centipede-like zebra with many legs. A butterfly with a geometric pattern of stipes, almost resembling the spines of books on shelves. A long, many-legged lizard, back legs petering off, unfinished, balancing a mushroom on its back with ballerina legs for a stem. Centermost, between the mirrored images, sits the haiku in black Times New Roman font.
I am mostly a visual artist, but I like to create "found poetry", specifically daily haiku made from the statuses of my Facebook friends. It was my Mom who started this, and officially passed the responsibility onto me when she became too busy.
