Yarns

Yarns

written by: Ellie Ness

@EleanorNess

She collects yarn
like she collects other people’s
husbands
melding them into her tapestry
taking just enough to
fulfill the vacant gnawing hole
at its heart –
returning what’s left
to its compartment
diminished

from the right side
hers is an exotic, rich
coalescence, a comingling, a knitting-in
or maybe just a confabulation
this stitching-in
unnoticed
rough knotted expurgated threads
untrimmed,
unfinished,
on the wrong side
