You and Me

You and Me

Silence between us
Is more eloquent
Than our words.
Sundays and silence
Are twined together
Like the snakes
That come to our
Courtyard only to be killed.
Kill the silence
words jump out
And make you wish
For the silence again.
All six days we wait
Patiently for that one day
When we can really talk.
Come sabbath day
We become cautious
Like a blind child
Trying to climb a fleet of stairs
Yon ooty hills
Remain, my sole companion,
On all seven days.
